New Show – Forgotten Women Of Wakefield

After some down time / planning time in 2018, with various members heading off on their travel around the world, some running arts festivals and others putting in the hours treading the board with other groups, we’re excited to be heading into a new year with some of our own projects in the making.

The first however, is a collaboration with Dream Time Creative on a very special project. Forgotten Women Of Wakefield is a huge project, involving a large number of smaller events taking place over a large space of time. But overall it is looking at achieving a gender parity in Wakefield’s Blue Plaques. And in order to achieve this, they team have been researching a number of amazing – but to many, forgotten – women from our great city.

A show (“Difficult Women”) celebrating them will take place on March 8th and 9th at Mechanics Theatre and we’re honoured to have been tasked with presenting the story and influence of Gertrude McCroben, as part of the wider piece.

Tickets and further details will be released soon.
